The second release of pacú fry into the Paraguay celebrated by the national leaders and Indigenous neighbors.

水産資源の回復と地場産業の育成をめざして
Hope grows for restoration of biological resource and promotion of local industry.

4月25日、レダ基地において、昨年に引き続き、第2回のパクー稚魚放流式典を挙行しました。昨年、現職の大統領の立場で環境省大臣や農牧省大臣を連れて第1回の放流式典に参加されたフランコ氏が、今回は夫人（上院議員）と共に、仲間の下院議員2人も伴って参加されました。

稚魚放流式典には、現大統領カルテス氏の従兄弟、副大統領の秘書、オリンポ市長、バイアネグラ市長、先住民村の酋長達など、多数の来賓も参加しました。先住民コミュニティのエスペランサからは70名の青年たちが船に乗って来ました。また州都フエルテ・オリンポ市からは、警備のために10名の警察官が派遣されて来て、結果的に総勢200名からの賑やかな式典となりました。

式典の第1部は国際研修所大ホールで行われ、南北米福地開発財団（現地）の理事長中田実所長の挨拶、レダ基地におけるパクー養殖に全面協力をしてきたアスンシオン大学マグノ教授が経過を報告、フランコ前大統領、オリンポ市長の挨拶と続き、締めくくりは、当協会の飯野貞夫会長が挨拶をしました。アトラクションとして、ディアナ村の学生たちが伝統舞踊を披露して花を添えました。

第2部は、レダ岬の先端に準備した桟橋上に移動し、稚魚と酸素を封入した袋を開いてパラグアイ川に放流しました。また、地場産業への貢献のため、オリンポ市長に昨年同様パクーの稚魚1000匹を贈呈しました。

今回はパラグアイの新聞社、TV局数社、韓国民放TVのMBC及びピースTV取材班が、一貫して現場取材をして、彼らもまた口々に感動を表していました。今回の行事を通して、一般市民が一段と自然環境保護の重要性を認識することが期待されます。私たちは今後も、地場産業の乏しい近隣の先住民村々に養殖技術と稚魚の提供を目指して参ります。今後も引き続き皆様のご協力をお願い申しあげます。

On April 25, we released pacú fries into the Paraguay River for the second time. Many TV crews and newspaper reporters from Asunción and from Korea attended the whole ceremony for videos, photos, interviews, and observation with their own eyes to make the firsthand reports.

Very fortunately, the weather was super fine after many consecutive days of unfavorable weather. Chaco in this season is quite wet. Land access to Puerto Leda was impossible due to soft muddy roads. Airplanes were the only means of transport for the invited guests and for the welcomed media persons from the capital of the Republic. Local inhabitants of Indigenous communities were, of course, invited and came to attend the celebrating ceremony by a provided boat, a most reliable carrier in any kind of season.

Mr. Federico Franco visited Puerto Leda again, but this time together with Mrs. Franco, a Senator of Paraguay. They opened the first plastic bag, full of fries and oxygen, and let the young fish go into the great river wishing they grow large and multiply many descendants in the Pantanal. Professor Magno of the National University of Asunción has been playing a very important role in teaching on-the-job the staff of the ASDinNSA (FDSANS in Paraguay) artificial incubation and nurturing of fries. They are respectful to and proud of each other.

As in May last year, we donated one thousand pacú fries to the city of Fuerte Olimpo through the Intendente Mr. Sergio Rubén Cuellar during the ceremony on the rivercoast. We do hope to share with many more communities the results of this joint effort so that fish farming may develop into a new industry in Chaco and in Paraguay, and, eventually, in the continent.

		次々と到着する飛行機 All the skies are clear after heavy rainfall. Eight airplanes fly to Puerto Leda and landed peacefully on the dry runway. 前々日の豪雨の後、天候が回復して滑走路も良好な状態になりました。この日は朝からすばらしい快晴です。
		近隣の村人たちも到着 Guests arrive from neighboring Indigenous communities. Ships are most reliable means of transport in the rain season. チャーターした船に乗って、エスペランサとディアナの先住民たちが式典に参加しにやって来ました。陸路が困難になる雨季に、船は強い味方です。
		稚魚放流記念のＴシャツ T-shirts to commemorate the day of release of fry. Every visitor of the event receives one and loves it. 参加者全員にプレゼントされました。注目度も良好で、各地で話題になるでしょう。

		サンパウロから、申南米大陸リーダーの挨拶 Mr. Shin, president of the Unificationist movement in South America comes and delivers a greeting message. プロジェクトの頼もしい支援者でもある、申南米大陸リーダーが、遠路サンパウロから駆けつけてくれました。
		中田所長の挨拶 Mr. Nakata, chief of Leda Farm, delivers a key-note speech representing the F.D.S.A.N.S. (ASDinNSA). 現地法人、南北米福地開発財団（F.D.S.A.N.S.）理事長の中田所長の挨拶。挨拶文は、後ほど掲載いたします。
		マグノ教授が経過報告 Professor Magno of the University of Asunción briefs history of aquiculture in Puerto Leda. He has been a great help for us for the success of incubation and farming of pacú. パクーの人工孵化に全面協力してくれている国立アスンシオン大学水産科のマグノ教授が、稚魚放流に至るまでの経過を報告しました。

		オリンポ市長の挨拶 Mayor of Fuerte Olimpo expresses gratitude for the act of donation of pacú fry for promotion of local industry. アルト・パラグアイ州の州都オリンポ市では、パクーの養殖が試みられています。先回に続き、今回もオリンポ市に1000匹の稚魚を贈呈しました。
		飯野会長の挨拶 Mr. Iino of the ASDinNSA in his speech focuses on the founding spirit of our project. He quotes, "Love your neighbors and love their country. It is the Indigenous and Paraguayan people who are your real neighbors." パンタナール開発の精神である「この国を愛せよ、あなた方の隣人とは、インディへナであり、パラグアイ人である。」に即し、日本の一般社団法人南北米福地開発協会を代表して挨拶しました。
		ディアナ村の伝統舞踊 Girls of the Indigenous community of Diana perform a traditional Chamacoco dance. スペイン風の舞踊ではなく、先住民族チャマココの伝統舞踊です。

		オリンポ市に稚魚を贈呈 We donate one thousand young pacú to the city of Fuerte Olimpo, the capital of Alto Paraguay, this year again. We hope to help the town promote a good industry. 地場産業の育成に貢献することは、養殖プロジェクトの主要目的の一つです。州都フエルテ･オリンポでの養殖に期待が高まっています。

		他のゲストたちも放流 This year, pacú has grown quite larger than last year. All those young fish show power and vitality to give us hope for survival and multiplication in the wild nature. 今回のパクーの稚魚は、昨年に比べ、かなり大きく成長していたので迫力がありました。
		フランコ前大統領の祈祷で昼食会 Mr. Franco says a prayer at the opening of the welcome lunch. Our staff prepared the meals with fish, meat, and vegetables, all super-fresh from Leda Farm. High quality of the material for excellent taste of the food. フランコ前大統領の祈祷より始まり、昼食を取りながら歓談しました。レダ産の食材をふんだんに使った美味しい料理を褒め称える言葉も多く聞かれました。
		アサド昼食会 All visitors from neighboring communities fully enjoy rich beef asado for congratulatory lunch. 野趣に満ちた焼肉料理です。焼き立ての香ばしい薫りとともに、参加者全員に満腹していただきました。
		カルテス大統領の従弟を囲んで Cousin of the President Cartes enjoys fellowship at our lunch table. 大統領の従弟は、パラグアイ最大の清涼飲料水の会社を経営しています。カルテス大統領は、外遊中でした。
		出発前に冷凍パクーを贈呈 Frozen pacú for friends in Asunción. Fish farming and fry release are the project of global and national significance. Its fruits should be shared with all citizens of the world in the future. 養殖、放流は、多くの国民に恩恵を共有していただく、地球的また国家的な意義のあるプロジェクトです。氷水で解凍すると、うまみ成分が豊かになります。
		LA NACION 紙記事 Asunción-based daily LA NACION reports the event and our projects on its issue of April 28.
