2000年以来、パラグアイ、チャコ地方の村々で奉仕活動を実行してきた、国際協力青年奉仕隊。その評判を聞き、他の市町村コミュニティからも「奉仕隊を受け入れたい」との誘致願望の声が寄せられています。残念ながら昨年（2020年）は、コロナ禍で日本からの奉仕隊派遣は見送られ、パラグアイ青年だけでアスンシオンの近郊のコミュニティ、バジェ・プクで川の清掃などの奉仕活動をしました。
今年は日本青年、オリンポ市の高校生、エスペランサ村の高校生、計21名の混成チームを結成し、多文化交流を一つの特色としました。奉仕隊は、まずレダ基地での体験学習を一通り終えた後、内陸のマリア・アウシリアドーラ村で活動しました。前回、前々回と同様、村に子供たちが楽しく安全に遊べる公園を欲しいという村人たちの夢を叶えるため、奉仕隊の派遣に先立って、公園に遊具を設置しました。奉仕隊はその公園の仕上げ作業と、学校舎の塗装、および学校食堂に壁画を描くなどの奉仕作業をしつつ、生徒たちと文化・スポーツ・遊びなどで交流しました。
マリア・アウシリアドーラの校長先生は、奉仕隊一行が村を去るまで、廊下で見ていてくださり、何度も何度も感謝していました。以前から子供たちのために遊具が欲しいと言っていた村人たちの夢が叶えられ、そして３日間青年たちが一生懸命に学校のために、子供たちのために尽くしている姿が心に焼き付いたようでした。
日本人隊員全員（女性4名、男性5名）は、奉仕隊の解散後もレダ基地に残り、3か月～6か月間にわたり奉仕活動に励むことになっています。オリンポとエスペランサの高校生たちも含め、全員が真摯に奉仕に取り組む姿は印象的でした。ご支援をくださった世界各地の皆様をはじめ、準備と実行に尽力してくださったスタッフと協力者の皆様とに、改めて感謝いたします。

ロマ・プラタのミルク工場を見学 The volunteer team visits a large, clean, and highly productive factory of milk products. "TREBOL" is a big brand in Paraguay. 大きく、清潔で、効率に優れた工場。先住民も工場内で働いています。ミルクは全国に出荷される有名ブランド。（7月12日） |

レダのブタランドを見学 On July 13, they arrived in Leda. Following day, they attended lectures on the significance and history of Leda Project. This day, they go for a mini tour around Leda Farm. "Pigland" is all visitors' favorite site. 前日、レダ開拓の意義と歴史を学びました。きょうは各プロジェクトの現場を見学して回ります。抱っこできる子豚が大人気。（7月15日） |

レダの菜園を見学 They visit the kitchen garden of Leda Farm. Its ground used to be barren clay. Now, you can grow even root vegetables after many years of soil improvement. 第一農場内にある菜園。カチカチの粘土ばかりの土地に土壌を育て、ついに根菜を作れるようになるまでの話。（7月15日） |

高校生たちが豚ランドを見学 Previous night, high school students arrived from Esperanza and Fuerte Olimpo. This morning, they attend the same lectures and tour. At Pigland, they, too, are excited. 前の晩、オリンポ市とエスペランサ村から高校生たちがレダに到着しました。きょう彼らは、レダに関する講義を受け、その後レダの諸施設を巡りました。（7月16日） |

地元の学生たちと交流 In the evening, all volunteers enjoy fellowship until they feel no boundaries among them. They are "One Family Under God." 改めて国境は自らの心の持ちようで消えていき、全世界が神様の下の一家族になっていくのだと実感することができました。（7月16日） |

タロイモ収穫体験に向かう Volunteers go to a taro field to experience harvesting taro corms. 奉仕隊員が全員揃いました。レダの諸プロジェクトの一つ一つを体験学習します。今朝はまずタロイモの収穫を体験します。（7月17日） |

タロイモ田にて Taro is cultivated in watery fields. Volunteers are to enter very muddy water. タロイモは水田で作ります。日本のサトイモもタロイモの一種です。（7月17日） |

収穫したタロイモ Taro corms which they have pulled out of the muddy field. It's tasty and rich with nutrients. Good for both human beings and domestic animals. 栄養豊富でおいしいタロイモ。人類の食料としても、家畜の飼料としても、有望な作物です。（7月17日） | |

パクーの水揚げ体験 Volunteers experience landing pacú out of a farming pond. They hold a wide encircling net and corner the shoal of pacú toward the shallow bank of the pond. 幅の広い網を大勢で持って、養殖池に入り、パクーを追い込んでいきます。（7月17日） |

水揚げしたパクー Finally, they catch up pacú with hand-held nets and bare hands. 養殖池の浅瀬まで追い込んだパクーを、最後はタモ網と手づかみで水揚げします。魚は暴れるので、しっかりと。（7月17日） | |

校舎のペンキ落とし (1) In order to paint anew, they polish the surface of old paint with sandpaper. 校舎の塗装をし直すために、古いペンキの表面をサンドペーパーでこすってきれいにします。（7月20日） | |

校舎のペンキ落とし (2) Where old paint is cracked, they remove it. また塗装のハゲた個所は、削ぎ落してしまいます。これらにより、新しいペンキがよく乗るようになります。（7月20日） | |

大縄跳び Long rope jumping. Everyone has to synchronize with the constant rhythm of the turning rope. Take with you a long jumping rope ready for use abroad. 大きい子供も小さい子供も、リズムに乗ってシンクロナイズ。海外を目指すボランティアには、縄跳び縄を携行することをお奨めします。（7月20日） | |

食堂に壁画を描く Wall painting for the school canteen. Tree of Life is going to bloom with hand-shaped flowers. 生徒たちは食堂で給食を食べます。そこに楽しい壁画を描くことが、奉仕隊の恒例プログラムになっています。（7月20日） | |

村の小学生たち Their dream has come true; and they are already dreaming a next dream: to become like those big brothers and sisters one day. 奉仕隊と一緒に働き、遊ぶのは、生涯に一度の体験かも知れません。いつかは自分たちも、と思っていることでしょう。（7月20日） |

ペンキ塗装 Now, the surface is clean everywhere. You can enjoy painting after a little practice. 表面がきれいになったので、新しいペンキを丁寧に塗ります。初めての人でも、すぐ上手に塗れるようになれます。（7月20日） | |

スポーツ交流 Football and volleyball are favorite sports. There is a good common practice: the number of players is unlimited. サッカーとバレーボールが定番です。人数は無制限。仲間外れはありえません。（7月20日） | |

遊戯で遊ぶ (1) All playground equipment we donated is made of hard wood from native trees. It is tougher than metallic equipment and free from corrosion. 遊具は地元に自生する硬質の木材で作られています。金属よりも頑丈で酸化による腐食の心配もありません。（7月20日） |

遊戯で遊ぶ (2) Volunteers and schoolchildren often play together in the playground. 奉仕隊員たちも子供たちと楽しく遊びました。遊具は好評です。（7月20日） | |

お別れセッション Farewell session. Chief of the community, head teacher and representative parents express gratitude and give a letter of thanks to each volunteer. For closing, they sing "Eres tu" in Spanish. 午前中に閉会式。村の代表者、校長先生、父母代表などが、口々に感謝の言葉を述べ、奉仕隊の参加者一人一人に感謝状をくれました。その後は全員で「Eres Tu」などを歌って終わりました。（7月21日） | |

記念プレート On the Tree of Life in the canteen is a memorial plaque in appreciation of the Youth Service. You can read each volunteer's full name. 奉仕隊への感謝を込めて、各隊員のフルネームを記した銘板が、学校食堂の壁画の真ん中に取り付けられました。 |

釣り体験 Fishing experience on the Paraguay. They catch lots of piraña and some dogfish. 大小4台のボートに分乗し、午前中いっぱい釣りをしました。たくさん釣れたのは、やはりピラニアでした。（7月22日） | |

スルビ（ピンタード）が釣れた！ However, among them are a couple of good anglers, who get surubi (pintado) and pacú. しかし、パクーやスルビを釣った隊員もいました。スルビは美味しくて大人気のグルメ魚です。（7月22日） | |

記念植樹 Memorial trees planted. Each volunteer plants young grapefruit tree and makes own nameplate to stand by it. 奉仕隊の希望で選んだグレープフルーツの苗を、一人ひとりレダ基地内に植え、自分の名を書いた標札を立てました。（7月22日） | |

親睦会 After the last dinner, they have a great fellowship in the Grand Hall. Most moving moment is when volunteers speak of their impression and reflection of participation in the Youth Service. 最後の日の夕食後、従業員も含めて、大ホールで親睦会を開きました。感想発表の時間、「オリンポに帰りたくない」と涙を流さんばかりに語る青年もいました。（7月22日） |

第21回青年奉仕隊報告会 Online meeting to share experiences of the 21st Youth Service, connecting Leda, Japan, and the world. Main participants are young people who have ever experienced Leda. レダと日本と世界をつないで、オンラインミーティング。レダを経験した青年たちが多く参加しました。「課題解決型インターンシップの紹介」と「国際協力青年奉仕隊」の報告会。（8月29日） | |

カブと大根を収穫 She grows vegetables in the kitchen garden of Leda. This morning, she harvests daikon (white radish) and kabu (turnips) to cook nice food for the staff. 育てたカブと大根収穫したヌワビシさん。煮物 や漬け物にしてくれ、みなで美味しくいただきました。（9月13日） | |
