第2回パクー稚魚放流式典挙行
The second release of pacú fry into the Paraguay celebrated by the national leaders and indigenous neighbors.

4月25日、レダ基地において、前年に引き続き、第二回のパクー稚魚放流式典を挙行しました。前年、現職の大統領の立場で環境省大臣や農牧省大臣を連れて第一回の放流式典に参加されたフランコ氏が、今回は夫人（上院議員）と共に、仲間の下院議員二人も伴って参加されました。

稚魚放流式典には、現大統領カルテス氏の従兄弟、副大統領の秘書、オリンポ市長、バイアネグラ市長、先住民村の酋長達など、多数の来賓も参加しました。先住民コミュニティのエスペランサからは70名の青年たちが船に乗って来ました。また州都フエルテ・オリンポ市からは、警備のために10名の警察官が派遣されて来て、結果的に総勢200名からの賑やかな式典となりました。

On April 25, we release pacú fry into the Paraguay River for the second time. Many TV crews and newspaper reporters from Asunción and from Korea attend the whole ceremony.

Mr. Federico Franco visits Puerto Leda again, but this time together with Mrs. Franco, a Senator of Paraguay. They open the first plastic bag, full of fry and oxygen, and let the young fish go into the great river wishing they grow large and multiply many descendants in the Pantanal.

Professor Magno of the National University of Asunción plays a very important role in teaching on-the-job the staff of the ASDinNSA (FDSANS in Paraguay) artificial incubation and nurturing of fry.

		MBCテレビがレダ基地を取材 Korean MBC TV reporter visits Leda at the Release Ceremony of pacú fry. The documentary was broadcast all over Korea in early July. 4月下旬のパクー稚魚放流式に合わせて来園した、韓国MBCテレビがレダ基地における活動を念入りに取材。7月上旬に韓国で全国放映されました。
		パクーの大量人工孵化に再び成功 Artificial incubation of pacú successful this season again. Some of the fry are either released into the Paraguay or donated to the City of Fuerte Plimpo; and others are cultivated in the farming ponds in Leda. 今季も仔魚の大量孵化に成功しました。稚魚の放流、贈与、養殖などの大規模化に向かって、道を開くものです。
		パラグアイ川水位大上昇(1) The water level of the Paraguay reaches and remains very high for about half a year. Our houses suffer from flood high above floor. 写真は、床上浸水したゲストハウス群。洪水は約半年間に及ぶもので、対策として堤防の建設が計画されています。
		パラグアイ川水位大上昇(2) Construction of a solid bank to encircle the Leda premises planned and contribution invited. ゲストハウスの掃除に向かう作業員たち。基地内の移動も、困難を極めます。家具類は、2階に移動してあります。

		第14回国際協力青年奉仕隊派遣 The 14th International Youth Service Team visits the indigenous community of Diana. They plant trees, fix the school building, play football with the local youth, and sing and dance with the community children. 困難な道路事情を乗越え、 8月下旬から9月上旬まで、先住民コミュニティのディアナ村において、植樹、校舎の修理、スポーツと文化の交流をしました。
		タロイモ栽培が本格化 More paddy fields prepared for taro(Colocasia esculenta) cultivation. Taro is tasty and rich with nutrients for both human beings and animals. 食料としても、飼料としても、栄養価の高いタロイモを増産するために、水田を造成しています。養殖と並び、政府、住民、メディアが関心を寄せています。
		グスタボ氏が武道教育 Mr. Gustavo Juliano from Argentina begins to teach the Unification Martial Arts for school students and marines in Alto Paraguay. Their leaders welcome him for a better physical and moral education. アルゼンチン人のグスタボ・ジュリアーノ氏が、アルト･パラグアイ州の小中高校、海軍基地などで、武道教育を実施。予想以上の好評を博しました。
		シニアボランティアの活躍(1) Every senior volunteer does a good job. Mr. Mizuochi is an expert in wooden architecture. He makes doors, windows, furnitures, piers, and anything by request, even with very poor availability of materials. 水落さんは、木造建築のプロフェッショナル。必要な資材が手に入らない環境で、どんな難しい要望にも応えて、常に一流の作品を完成させてきました。。

		シニアボランティアの活躍(2) Mr. Kobashi is an expert in meat processing. His chorizo amaze VIP's from the Central Government who visit Leda. He also makes fish sausage of piranha. 小橋さんは、食肉加工のプロフェッショナル。ブタランドの豚肉と、ピラニアの魚肉から作ったソーセージは、舌の越えたVIPたちを大満足に。商品化も企画中。
		ベルギー国営放送局取材班来園(1) The Belgian National TV crew visits Leda in October. They have two very busy days to cover our farming ponds, taro fields, swimming pool, and all other activities and facilities. 10月7～8日、ベルギーの国営テレビ局の取材チーム5名が、レダ基地の取材に訪れました。養殖池、農場、プール、朝礼風景ほか、貪欲に取材して行きました。
		ベルギー国営放送局取材班来園(2) They are five. The reporters are well known in Belgium. They even come to our early morming study session starting from 4 a.m. 取材チームのリーダーは、ベルギーでは知らない人のいないニュースキャスター。もちろん、カメラ、マイクなどの機材も一流でした。
		フアン副大統領が来園 On October 27, the Vice President of the Republic Mr. Juan Afara visits Leda accompanied by the presidential advisor Mr. Taoka, They have a tour to all fields and corners of Leda and ask us many deep and good questions. 10月27日、パラグアイ共和国副大統領が、大統領顧問田岡功氏と共に来園、精力的に園内を視察されました。
		フアン副大統領が記念植樹 Mr. Juan Afara, Vice President, plants a comemmorative tree in Leda. 『私たちの祖国の美しいこの地域の自然を保護するために、なされた偉大な活動に対して、親愛と敬意をこめて。フアン・アファラ。』と色紙に書かれました。

		異常気象でアスンシオンが洪水 The Paraguay and the Parana flooded with heavy rainfall in June. The Paraguayan Capital Asunción suffers from unusually increased water, and some 150,000 take refuge. (Photo by AFPBB News) 六月上旬の豪雨で、パラグアイ川とパラナ川が氾濫し、首都アスンシオンで約15万人が避難しました。
		青年たちの活躍(1) Young volunteers' perspiration shines as bright as the seniors'. The young man is always the first person to carry heavy loads brought to Leda by the cargo-passenger boat Aquidaban. She may arrive day or night. レダ基地では、若者たちの汗が光りました。貨客船アキダバンが到着すると、それが昼でも夜でも、進んできつい荷役を買って出ます。
		青年たちの活躍(2) The young Japanese lady is a qualified cook in Japanese cuisine. She teaches indigenous women how to cook including Japanese dishes. She can speak neither Spanish, Guarani, nor Chamacoco, but she does her job somehow... レダ基地で働く女性たちに日本料理を教えました。言葉の通じない中、真心と情熱で心を通じ合せました。
		青年たちの活躍(3) The young Japanese agricultural researcher studies crops and soil in Leda Farm. She will return to her university study in Japan and continue to work for international cooperation. 農業の研究の合間に、先住民の村を訪ね、村人たちと交流しました。帰国後は国際貢献に携わりたいと希望しています。
